Moments with you

Hello Abigail. Today I decided I better check in since I am shooting out photos and videos of you... http://www.youtube.com/user/jbmoments is where I keep all the videos. Maybe it'll still be around when you get to see this someday.

I still haven't decided how I want to use this site. Sometimes I think it'd be easier as a photo post, cause I take so many pics of you... but then I think it'd be fun to tell you stories too... anyway, I don't have much time now that I'm back to work. Work with you as a 10 week old baby has been ok, better than I can imagine if you weren't here anyway. I am now finding that I love spending time with you so much, it makes me less interested in my day job... I used to "love" my job. I really did. I've been in graphics for over 13 years now. But now that I have you I find I'd much rather spend my time learning about parenting and being there for you. If I ever decide to leave my profession as a designer, it will be to care for you... right now I have to keep it up. But maybe someday I'll get to do something else. At least I work from home now so it's not like I have to take you to day care... just juggling you and a fulltime job is like 2 jobs in 1! Hopefully daddy will get to work on days soon and we will have an easier time of it all. Not that you're hard, cause you're what makes me happy all day. It's just tiring when I am still nursing you, and not sleeping... I should be sleeping now since you are sleeping!! Oh well. I gotta write to you when I can. Hee hee!

Daddy is at the Red Sox game with Uncle Steve tonight in Boston so its just us. He is so excited to be there and is buying you your first Red Sox onesie to wear to the Jersey family reunion this summer. He adores you, and I posted the picture here even though he will not be happy about it. I just think it is the more adorable photo of you and him. You're both so peaceful and cute. I wish I could snuggle up with you both too.... You have been growing so much lately, and I really notice it in these pictures. You're now smiling and trying to laugh, and cooing, and just so cute!! You love your swing -- you could sit in it all day I think, but somebody's gotta change those poopy diapers :-) You make me laugh so much... there is a mirror above your swing seat which you can see yourself in. Just a couple days ago you must have realized this. You may or may not know it's you in the mirror. I like to think you see yourself but you think it's a friend... so when you get up from the swing I always tell you that your friend will be there again when you get back in the swing. We sometimes say we wish we had a swing in every room of the house for you, you like it that much!! Anyway, you are such a good baby... we're so lucky to have you.

Your christening is next week, April 20th. A few people are coming, about 40 family members and their kids, your cousins. Grandpa Bernie will be here mid-week to see you a few extra days, and so will Grandpa Steve. I can't wait for it to happen. We take you to church now and you always sleep through it. It's really nice. I'm wondering how it will be when you start to stay awake through services. Will you be a loud baby or a sweet quiet baby... we shall see!

Well I'll be back in touch soon my sweet little one. Love you very much, Mommy

Way past due...

Hello Abigail! I'm not very good at keeping up with this blog for you. But I'm doing so much now that I'm also back at work so we'll see how I get to this... You're now 9 weeks old, and are just growing by leaps and bounds. You weighed in at 10 lbs 2 oz, and were 23 inches long last week. I'm sure when you look back on this you won't believe you were ever this small. But I love you at this size - you're now able to hold up your head really well, and soon you'll sit up and then crawl... only a matter of time. Right now you have this funny thing you do, you suck on your paci so much that you spit it right out of your mouth and of course begin to frantically breath in the hopes that someone (aka me or daddy) will be near by to put it back in. It's so cute... You also love your swing, and are starting to sleep a little better at night, which is a good thing since I have to work again and need a little sleep myself!

Easter with you was so fun. Everyone loved your Easter dress which was given to you by Uncle Leo at the hospital when you were born. Grandma Loretta got you the little flower hat you wore to church then for a few pictures after... You looked adorable! I'll be sure to post a picture of you here from your first Easter. It was so sweet. Daddy had to work that day, so you saw him at night at Loretta's for dinner. Unfortunately we didn't get a family picture, but your Christening is coming up so I am sure we'll get one then.

I've been posting a few videos on YouTube for everyone to see... that's a lot of fun. You are such a cutie that I want to show you off to everyone. The thought crossed my mind to get you into baby modeling so you would have money for college, but I have mixed feelings on it, plus I don't know where we'd find the time. But it sure would be fun.

Last week I took you to Kaler's Pond with our friends Laurie and baby Elisabeth. Eli played with the swans and swang on the swings, while you slept in the stroller. Good thing you like your car seat so much cause you've been travelling all over Eastern Long Island!

You are a popular one with the little girls across the street. Vicker's girls came over and Daddy answered the door when they said "Can we come see Abigail?" He was surprised, it was actually funny that a 9-week old baby would have girfriends come to visit! That must show you how special everyone thinks you are.

I better go fix dinner before you wake up. You're sitting right here with me, sleeping for a few minutes... so peaceful I just love to watch you. Love hugs and kisses...

Mommy
